Please feel free to approach any of our senior members either before or after the session if you have any questions or require any information.The age limit for our club is 12 but we may accept younger people after an interview with you and a guardian.Wear clothing that you can move around in easily such as at-shirt and tracksuit pants.

Kendoka train rigorously with the purpose of molding the mind and body, cultivating a vigourous spirit and striving for improvement in the art of Kendo.
Ordinary membership
€60.00
Cavan Kendo Kai ordinary membership entitles you to practice under Irish Kendo Federation insurance, attend all national events, attend the AGM, take part in votes and elections and to stand for election to the board of Kendo na hÉireann.
Junior membership between 12 yrs & 18 yrs
€30.00
A reduced rate for those between 10 years old and 18 Years old. Junior members have the same rights as ordinary members with the exception that they cannot stand for election to the board of Kendo na hÉireann.
Family membership
€80.00
Designed for families, this membership confers the same privileges as ordinary membership for over 18s, and the same privileges as junior membership.
Concessionary membership (Student/unemployed/apprentice – ID required)
€40.00
This membership is for full time students, unemployed/unwaged and apprentices. Confers the same rights as ordinary membership but at a concessionary rate. For students a valid ID is required.

At Cavan Kendo Kai we practice the Japanese martial art of sword-fighting every Sunday at 10:30am in the Scout's Den.

Founded in 2015, Cavan Kendo Kai is a flourishing dojo in the North East of Ireland, with about 10 registered members from a diverse age and fitness background.

Cavan Kendo Kai is a club run by a collective of volunteers. Crucial to the club are its various officers which play a very important role in the day to day running of Cavan Kendo Kai and help to maintain the club's high spirit and morale.

At Cavan Kendo Kai, we are keen to encourage everybody to participate in Kendo for fun and enjoyment. It is also an activity that can be practiced by people of diverse ages, genders, and with most physical conditions. This means that kendo can be a life-long pursuit, which can help shape good physical condition, values and attitudes, such as equality, fair play, and general well being.
